Denis Parenthoine est né en 1967, à Saint-Brieuc. Débutant l?apprentissage de la musique à l?âge de 17 ans, en parallèle d?études littéraires, il suit des cours particuliers auprès d?Anne Magadur, professeur de piano à l?Ecole Nationale de Musique de Saint-Brieuc.

He also took lessons in harmony and Counterpoint with the composer and teacher Yvonne Desportes and entered the writing class at the CNSM in Paris where he was taught for two years by the composer Alain Bernaud.

In addition to his compositional activities for piano and chamber music, he also composed pieces for symphony orchestra.

In addition, he teaches piano and music education in various structures in his region. In 2002, two of his pieces for violin and piano were published by Editions Combre.

His interest in acoustical concerns having led him to undertake in-depth scientific studies, he now divides his time between a teaching activity and a regular composition activity.
